Antibes and Juan-les-Pins have 5 verified addresses, and no dedicated kitchen. The most useful piece of information in this guide is a correction: a crêperie in Juan-les-Pins is sometimes classed as “dedicated”, and it is not. The rest is a socca address in the old town, a restaurant that flags its dishes, a table that swaps out its pasta and a chain ice cream shop. Everywhere, you announce your celiac disease when ordering.
The city in numbers
Socca and galettes
- MISS SOCCA, rue Fourmillière in old Antibes: a small place built entirely around socca, the Niçois chickpea flatbread. Savoury and sweet soccas and crêpes are made with organic chickpea flour, no wheat. Our database still flags possible cross-contamination: we could not confirm a dedicated kitchen, so ask how the griddle is used.
- La Crêperie, avenue du Docteur Dautheville in Juan-les-Pins: all the galettes are gluten-free, and the sweet crêpes can be. Source error: it is sometimes classed as “dedicated”, but the kitchen is mixed and works with wheat flour. We have reclassified it as “gluten-free menu”. Worth mentioning if you are celiac, and here is why airborne flour matters.
The tables and the ice cream shop
- Healthy Lounge, rue James Close: the vegan and gluten-free dishes are flagged directly on the menu, and for afternoon treats there are gluten-free pancakes, waffles, burger buns and cakes. The kitchen is not dedicated, but gluten-free is part of the everyday running of the place. Wheat flour circulates: say you are celiac.
- L’escale, boulevard Édouard Baudoin in Juan-les-Pins: allergens are listed on the menu and gluten-free pasta can replace the standard pasta. Non-dedicated kitchen, wheat flour present: state your intolerance and ask what water the pasta is cooked in.
- Amorino, rue de la République: an Italian ice cream chain whose gelati and sorbets have been gluten-free since 2017, with the allergen list published by the brand. The gluten-free cone, wrapped separately, is not available in every shop: ask for it, otherwise take a cup. Waffles and standard cones are handled at the same counter.
Our tips on site
- Say “je suis cœliaque” (“I have celiac disease”), not “sans gluten”: with no dedicated kitchen, it is the word that triggers a separate preparation.
- Do not trust a third-party app’s “dedicated” rating: this is where we saw it get it wrong. Ask about the kitchen, not the menu.
- Two areas, a few minutes apart: old Antibes and rue de la République on one side, Juan-les-Pins on the other.
- No dedicated bakery in our database in Antibes: plan for bread. Nice and Cannes are next door, and the rest of the country is in our guide to gluten-free holidays in France.
