lu & i

Wheat-free, uses oats

Pâtisserie lu & i, in the Mile End, is a vegan and entirely gluten-free bakery, café and grocery with naturally sweetened treats: cupcakes, cookies, custom cakes, sandwiches and quiches. Oat flour is used in the baking: some people with coeliac disease do not tolerate oats. The gluten-free bread comes from Sarrasin Boulangerie and the kombucha from Lao.

No wheat, rye or barley, but oats are used on site: a risk for many people with coeliac disease.

Good to know if you have celiac disease

Contains oats. Oats not certified gluten-free are almost always contaminated with wheat during growing and milling. Even certified, their avenin protein is poorly tolerated by some people with celiac disease.

Hidden in strict celiac mode.
