Kirari West Bake Shop, 707 North Pacific Coast Highway, is a family bakery of Japanese origin where everything is made with rice flour, without an ounce of wheat: breads, pastries, cakes and sandwiches, prepared in a kitchen guaranteed free of cross-contamination. The bakery’s own site, Find Me Gluten Free, Yelp — over 1,000 reviews — and Tripadvisor all agree.

Confections by Kirari West, 625 North Pacific Coast Highway, is its sister shop, dedicated to cookies, donuts, waffles and 100% gluten-free pizzas; the “wafflewich” is what gets mentioned most, and the shop ships nationwide. These are indeed two separate shops, at two different addresses on the same avenue, linked by the brand but each verified independently. Find Me Gluten Free lists it as a dedicated bakery, in line with the official site, Facebook and Yelp.

The restaurant

lil’ Vegerie, 800 South Pacific Coast Highway, is a vegan restaurant with a menu that is entirely gluten-free and soy-free: generous bowls, fresh salads, pressed juices, with no processed ingredients. Yelp ranked it first among the best vegan restaurants in the United States. The official site, LAmag, HappyCow and Yelp all describe the same menu. It is the only one of the three addresses where you sit down for a full meal.
