Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is one of those cities where the question of risk barely comes up: of the 4 verified addresses, 4 are fully dedicated kitchens. No mixed tables, no “adapted” menu in our database. A neighborhood grocery-canteen, a bakery certified by the provincial celiac association, a Neapolitan pizzeria and a Spanish restaurant in Vegueta. It is a small number of addresses, but each one can be ordered from without reservation.
The city in numbers
The sit-down spots: a restaurant and a pizzeria
RESTAURANTE 18 Grados Sin Gluten, Calle Covadonga, serves Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine where the entire menu, from savory to dessert, is made gluten-free, with vegetarian and vegan options. It is the address for a real sit-down meal in Vegueta. Four sources agree: Atly rates it “100% Dedicated Gluten-Free,” and Celinews, Celisocial and Find Me Gluten Free (5/5 on 23 reviews) all list it.
Pizzeria Fermento, Calle Veintinueve de Abril, is the city’s 100% gluten-free Italian pizzeria: the dough is prepared daily from a blend sourced from a traditional Neapolitan mill, in an environment described as free of cross-contamination risk. Confirmed by Find Me Gluten Free, by Tripadvisor and by an August 2025 article in Canarias7, with matching address and phone number.
The bakery and the neighborhood grocery
Pastelería Singlutencake Venegas is the city’s strongest address on paper: the shop is certified by ASOCEPA, the celiac association of the province of Las Palmas, fully dedicated to gluten-free, and also offers its products lactose-free, egg-free and in vegan versions. Its website details the cross-contamination protocol and displays the label “100% sin gluten.” Here, you pick from the display case without reading a label.
La Korianda, Calle Daoiz, in the Guanarteme neighborhood, is a discreet address entirely designed to be gluten-free: breakfasts, a homemade menu of the day and takeaway dishes. It is well loved by the Canary Islands’ celiac community — its Google listing is rated 4.8/5 on 451 reviews, and the association account @celiacoscanarias, disfrutandosingluten.es and canariasglutenfree.com all cover it.
Our tips on site
- Say “Soy celíaco” or “Soy celíaca,” rather than “sin gluten.” Even in a dedicated kitchen, it is the phrase that gets everyone on the same page about the level of care required.
- Look for the ASOCEPA logo. It is the celiac association of the province of Las Palmas, and Pastelería Singlutencake Venegas explicitly claims it. At the national level, the equivalent is FACE, the Spanish federation of celiac associations.
- Plan your trips. The four addresses are in four different areas — Guanarteme, Vegueta, and two postal codes in the center: none is within reach of another.
- Continuing your trip through Spain? Our guide to gluten-free travel in Spain covers the rest of the country, and dedicated kitchen or gluten-free menu, the difference explains why these four addresses are not comparable to an “adapted” menu.
