Saan Saan Cafe and Restaurant
Wheat-free, uses oatsSaan Saan Cafe, on Main Street in Vancouver, reinvents Hong Kong cha chaan teng classics in an entirely gluten-free café: baos, noodles, rice bowls, salads, baked goods and Hong Kong-style milk tea. One drink on the menu is made with oat milk: oats are not tolerated by some coeliacs.
No wheat, rye or barley, but oats are used on site: a risk for many people with coeliac disease.
Good to know if you have celiac disease
Contains oats. Oats not certified gluten-free are almost always contaminated with wheat during growing and milling. Even certified, their avenin protein is poorly tolerated by some people with celiac disease.
