The bakery

La Pépite, rue Sainte in the 7th, is a 100% gluten-free and dairy-free bakery. Breads, vegetable tarts, vegan pizzas, pissaladière, cookies, loaf cakes, fine pastries, vegan ice creams, made with local, organic and biodynamic ingredients. It is the address for bread, and the one for local specialities — the pissaladière, which you will find nowhere else without wheat. A second address, a tea room on place Daviel in the 2nd, has been reported to us and is still to be added to the database.

The two tables

  • Lulo Bar, cours Julien in the 6th: a 100% gluten-free Colombian tapas bar where, in the house’s own words, “wheat does not enter the kitchen”. Empanadas, white corn arepas, chicharrón, patacones. Dogs welcome. This is the evening address, in the liveliest quarter.
  • Le Balagan, rue du Rouet in the 8th: a 100% plant-based, organic and gluten-free kitchen, first prize for organic restaurant in 2025, third prize for plant-based restaurant and fifth prize for most committed restaurant the same year. Soups, salads, tarts and burgers, fresh every day; the house also does catering. Mind the hours, which are very limited: some sources list Tuesday only. Confirm before making the trip.

  • No question to ask at these three addresses: that is what “dedicated kitchen” means, and here is what it changes compared with a gluten-free menu.
  • Three neighbourhoods, three trips: rue Sainte near the Vieux-Port, the cours Julien, rue du Rouet towards the Prado. None of them is a step away from another.
  • Check Le Balagan’s hours before going; for the other two, a glance at the opening days is enough.
