The harbour restaurant

L’Amirauté Chez Rita, port Charles Ornano, nautical atmosphere, is run by an owner who has celiac disease himself. Pizzas and pasta come in gluten-free versions, with a separate pizza oven reserved for gluten-free, and the menu clearly flags the dishes concerned. Fish, meat and desserts are house-made. The kitchen is not dedicated for all that — wheat flour is worked there: say you are celiac, and ask how the pasta is cooked. This is the address in town.

The market and the frozen yoghurt

  • Marché d’Ajaccio - Marcatu d’Aiacciu, place du Marché, boulevard du Roi Jérôme: the central market, joined on Wednesday and Saturday mornings by a local producers’ market — fruit and vegetables, charcuterie, cheeses, preserves. A gluten-free pastry stall is reported there several days a week: biscuits, savoury pastries and chocolate muffins. A market is still an open space: ask at the stall how the products are made and packaged.
  • YAYOURT, rue Cardinal Fesch: a frozen yoghurt bar, yoghurt made from organic French milk, with no added sugar, gluten-free and lactose-free, to be topped with house toppings. They also serve crêpes, and crêpe batter puts flour in the air: check the toppings and the equipment with the team.
