Bread and ice cream

Food Senza Glutine, viale Aldo Moro, is a shop-laboratory entirely dedicated to gluten-free: fresh bread, pizza, focaccia and pastries come out every morning, alongside a range of packaged products. It’s the address to know if you’re staying in a rental or heading to the coast for the day: you can shop there without reading a single label. Four sources agree — the official website, Facebook, Gluto and CeliachiaItalia — and none mentions a wheat product on the premises.

Gelateria Da Brivido 100% Naturale, via Regina Elena, goes further than most ice cream shops: absolutely everything is guaranteed gluten-free, the ice creams as well as the cones, wafers and cakes, with no cross-contamination risk according to the reviews we found. It also offers 100% natural, dairy-free and vegan options. The official website, HappyCow, Atly and Gluto.it agree, without reservation.

The one table, with a caveat

Restaurant Be Free, via Gabriele d’Annunzio, calls itself a 100% gluten-free restaurant, and its Facebook page reads “Be Free 100% Gluten Free.” It’s the only sit-down address in Olbia in our database. But let’s be precise about what we know: the detailed content — menu, recent reviews — wasn’t fully accessible to us. We found no sign of closure and no contradiction, but our verification rests on a single source. Call ahead, and ask about the dedicated kitchen when you arrive.

Our tips on site

  • Say “Sono celiaco” or “Sono celiaca” rather than “senza glutine”: that’s the word that triggers real precautions in the kitchen.
  • Do your shopping at Food Senza Glutine if you’re basing yourself in Olbia. The beaches and villages of northern Sardinia have no equivalent in our database.
  • AIC, the Associazione Italiana Celiachia, is Italy’s national association and awards the label carried by many establishments across the country; none of our three Olbia addresses displays it.
  • Moving on elsewhere in Italy? Our guide to gluten-free travel in Italy covers the rest of the country, and dedicated kitchen or gluten-free menu, the difference explains what that word really changes.

Explore the 3 addresses

Every address cited has been verified at the source: existence, actual gluten-free level, risks. All 3 are on the Nutrixe map — three addresses for Olbia is not many, and if you know of another one, suggest it. The full list is on our page gluten-free restaurants in Olbia.
