The two fully dedicated addresses

The Sister Brussels Café, 3 rue Chair et Pain, serves a menu that is entirely organic and gluten-free a stone’s throw from the Grand-Place: focaccia, vegan waffles, omelettes, falafel, and gluten-free beer — a rarity in the country of beer. Open every day, lunch and dinner. The official website, Find Me Gluten Free, Atly and Gluto all corroborate the dedicated status. It is the address that settles the question of a meal in the centre.

Copines Paris, 4 rue du Marché aux Herbes, is the Belgian version of the 100% gluten-free Parisian bakery-patisserie Copains, renamed here for trademark reasons. Opened at the end of October 2025, it works on pastries, babkas and tarts made with buckwheat, quinoa and wholegrain rice flours. Seven sources, including the Belgian press and Find Me Gluten Free, confirm its entirely gluten-free nature.

The menu still to confirm

VeganPot, in the Galerie Agora right in the centre, serves savoury vegan potato-based waffles with toppings of your choice. Several sauces and preparations are identified as gluten-free, but we have found no independent source confirming that the whole kitchen is: Find Me Gluten Free lists it as dedicated, while HappyCow refers only to a “wide choice of vegan and gluten-free sauces”, a wording that describes a partial offering. So we have classified it as a gluten-free menu, with a risk of cross-contamination. Speak up when ordering.

Our tips on site

  • Say “Je suis cœliaque” (“I have celiac disease”), not “je mange sans gluten” (“I eat gluten-free”): the nuance changes the precautions taken in the kitchen.
  • The SBC, Société Belge de la Cœliaquie, is the French-speaking reference association; the VCV, Vlaamse Coeliakievereniging, is its Dutch-speaking equivalent.
  • Two safe addresses within the same perimeter: rue Chair et Pain and rue du Marché aux Herbes are a short walk from each other around the Grand-Place.
