Itajaí fits into three lines: 3 verified addresses, of which 2 are fully dedicated kitchens. The two dedicated ones belong to the same local healthy-eating brand, Bem Viver, and the cafeteria Green Cake. The third, the Padoca Bem Viver, advertises gluten-free options without our having found anything to confirm it: it’s in this guide, but with its caveat.
The city in numbers
The two fully dedicated addresses
Bem Viver Gastronomia Saudável, R. Antônio Manoel Moreira, is a healthy-eating spot whose entire menu is gluten-free and lactose-free: pizzas, coxinhas and croquettes made with chickpea or sweet potato flour, cakes sweetened with xylitol. The official site querobemviver.com advertises “seguro para celíacos,” and the Find Me Gluten Free listing, TripAdvisor (4.8/5) and an article in the local paper Diarinho all point the same way.
Green Cake, Av. Sete de Setembro in the Fazenda neighborhood, is a 100% gluten-free and lactose-free cafeteria: fresh salads, colorful wraps, pastries and a signature corn cake, based on the founder’s family recipes. Diarinho describes it as an entirely gluten-free and lactose-free space; the official Instagram and Find Me Gluten Free confirm it.
The address to confirm on site
Padoca Bem Viver, R. José Gall, is presented as the bakery-patisserie arm of the Bem Viver concept, with an advertised gluten-free and lactose-free offering. We found no independent source confirming this for this specific address: we’ve classified it as an identified gluten-free menu, not a dedicated kitchen. Announce your celiac disease when ordering and ask whether the pastries are made in the same workshop as the other two addresses. Until the answer is clear, treat it as a mixed kitchen.
Our on-site tips
- Say “Sou celíaco” or “Sou celíaca,” rather than “sem glúten”: it’s the word that triggers real precautions in the kitchen.
- FENACELBRA is Brazil’s national federation of celiac associations, the country’s national reference point for the disease.
- Two dedicated addresses, one to verify: Bem Viver and Green Cake can be ordered from without question; the Padoca calls for a conversation.
- Continuing on through Brazil? Our guide to gluten-free travel in Brazil covers the rest of the country.

Every address cited has been verified at the source: existence, actual gluten-free level, risks. All 3 are on the Nutrixe map — and if your Itajaí address is missing, suggest it. The full list is on our page gluten-free restaurants in Itajaí, and dedicated kitchen vs. gluten-free menu, the difference explains exactly what separates the first two addresses from the third.
