Edmonton is a good city for a celiac, for a simple reason: the 5 verified addresses in our database are 5 fully dedicated kitchens, with no wheat flour on the premises. Not one mixed table to negotiate. Three bakeries — one of them among the biggest gluten-free production operations in the country — a European bistro whose whole menu is gluten-free, and a poutinerie where even the fryer raises no question.
The city in numbers
The three dedicated bakeries
Kinnikinnick Foods & Kinnikinnick Fresh Bakery, 120 Street Northwest, is the city’s 100% gluten-free bakery and grocery: more than 200 gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free products made on site every day — muffins, buns, pastries, cakes. No risk of cross-contamination with wheat. Status confirmed by the brand’s site and reviews, consulted in July 2026.
Celebrate, gluten free | Bakery Cafe, on Stony Plain Road, pushes the rule further than most: even the staff are not allowed to bring gluten-containing meals onto the premises. Gluten-free breads, cinnamon buns, cookies and pizzas, in a family atmosphere.
Food In The Nūd, 76 Avenue Northwest, is a 100% gluten-free and dairy-free bakery, known for its breads, muffins and cakes — its carrot cupcakes in particular. Everything is made in a dedicated space, with no contact with wheat.
The two tables
Continental Treat Fine Bistro, Roper Road Northwest, is a European bistro with German, Polish, Hungarian and Austrian influences, run by the same family across three generations, and its menu is entirely gluten-free: pierogi, schnitzels, breads and desserts. It is the address for a real sit-down dinner, the one so many cities lack.
myFRIES Poutinerie, also on Stony Plain Road, serves 100% gluten-free poutine, gravy and cheese curds included, and states a certification from the Canadian Celiac Association. The whole restaurant runs gluten-free: the shared fryer, which rules fries out almost everywhere else, is not a problem here, including for very sensitive people.
Our tips on site
- Say “I have celiac disease”, not “I’m gluten-free”. The second passes for a dietary choice; the first triggers precautions. Then: “Is the kitchen fully dedicated?”
- Celiac Canada is the country’s national reference association for people with celiac disease; it is the body myFRIES cites for its certification.
- Two addresses on the same road. Celebrate (15213) and myFRIES (18481) are both on Stony Plain Road, in the west of the city: that is the only easy pairing, the other three each require a trip.
- Travelling on elsewhere in Canada? Our guide to gluten-free travel in Canada covers the rest of the country.

Every address cited has been verified at the source: existence, actual gluten-free level, risks. All 5 are on the Nutrixe map — and if an Edmonton address is missing, suggest it.
