Bentonville is a rare case in our database: of the 4 verified addresses, 4 are fully dedicated kitchens. No mixed table, no “adapted” menu to discuss with the server. Two restaurants run by the same chef, a bakery that supplies other establishments in the region, and Arkansas’s first gluten-free brewery. It is a small number of addresses, but none of them calls for negotiation.
What the town counts
Chef Matthew Cooper’s two tables
Conifer, 321 Southeast 2nd Street, is an entirely gluten-free fine-dining restaurant: a hyper-seasonal menu built on local farm produce, from chicken to vegan coconut curry dumplings. The dedicated status is confirmed by Find Me Gluten Free, by the local press (The Adventurist Magazine, Arkansas Small Business Center), by Yelp and by the restaurant’s own site.
Ryn, Price Coffee Road, occupies a restored historic farm and serves an 8- to 10-course tasting menu, entirely gluten-free as well, under the same James Beard-nominated chef. The kitchen follows the farm’s harvests and can accommodate other dietary needs provided you give notice in advance. The official site, the Arkansas Times, NWA Homepage, The Infatuation and Visit Bentonville’s gluten-free guide all confirm a wholly gluten-free menu.
The bakery and the brewery
Sandi Sue’s Gluten Free Bakery, 2500 Southwest 14th Street, is a 100% gluten-free bakery: breads, pizza doughs, pies and cakes, including wedding cakes, made with natural ingredients. It is the supplier of gluten-free bread to several partner restaurants in Northwest Arkansas. Status verified with the National Celiac Association, on Yelp, on the official Facebook page and on the bakery’s site.
Stoic Brews Alternative, 410 Southwest A Street, opened in 2025 as Arkansas’s first 100% gluten-free brewery-taproom. The beers are brewed with millet, buckwheat and rice — no barley malt, no wheat — and the house also serves gluten-free cocktails, mocktails, wines, pizzas and calzones, with no cross-contamination risk. This is the exception that counts: in an ordinary bar, beer is a celiac’s first trap.
Our tips on site
- Say “I have celiac disease”, not just “gluten-free”. In the United States, the second phrase often passes for a chosen diet; the first commits the kitchen.
- Book for Ryn. An 8- to 10-course tasting menu on a farm is not somewhere you walk into on the off-chance, and dietary adaptations there are requested in advance.
- Two American association reference points: GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) and Beyond Celiac. The National Celiac Association is among the sources that confirmed Sandi Sue’s status.
- Travelling on in the United States? Our guide to gluten-free travel in the USA covers the rest of the country, and dedicated kitchen or gluten-free options, the difference explains exactly what a dedicated kitchen like these changes.
