Białystok has 4 verified addresses, 3 of them fully dedicated kitchens — no wheat flour on the premises. Three of these addresses are sweet or takeaway, only one is a restaurant. The “Menu Bez Glutenu” programme run by the Polish celiac association comes up in almost every verification; it is the marker to know here.

The fully gluten-free restaurant

Restauracja RAJ - pizza ludzie wino Bezglutenowa, ulica Jana Kilińskiego 13, is the city’s table: everything there is gluten-free, and the establishment is certified “Menu Bez Glutenu” by the Polish celiac association. Almost 30 varieties of pizza, but also breakfasts, burgers, pasta, salads, roast sweet potatoes, gluten-free wines and beers. The official website, Celiakia.pl, Find Me Gluten Free and the Facebook page all agree on the address and on the 100% gluten-free nature of the place.

Bread, cakes and pierogi: the takeaway addresses

Cukiernia Piekarnia Bezglutenowa Sweet Fit & Eat, ulica Legionowa 30, produces breads, bagels, pastries and more than forty “fit” cakes every day, all gluten-free and without white sugar — replaced with xylitol or erythritol — along with vegan options. The official website, Find Me Gluten Free (“Dedicated Gluten-Free Bakery”) and Menu Bez Glutenu confirm production that is exclusively gluten-free, and very well rated (4.5/5 from 846 Google reviews).

Zdrowa Micha, ulica Juliana Tuwima 1, is a gluten-free grocery-bakery: breads, cakes, pâtés and natural pierogi, carrying the crossed grain logo, in store and online. A sweet range is planned for children. The official website, the Menu Bez Glutenu certification announcement on celiakia.pl and its listing on lokalninaturalni.pl all agree.

The address to confirm on site

Fit Cake, Bohaterów Monte Cassino 10/2, belongs to the Polish chain of “non-patisseries” Fit Cake, which specialises in cakes, tarts and desserts without gluten and without added sugar, with keto, vegan and lactose-free options. But the establishment presents itself as gluten-free and we have found no independent source confirming that for this precise address: the “Menu Bez Glutenu” certified address we traced in Białystok is another branch in the same city, ulica Jurowiecka 11. So we have classified it as a gluten-free menu rather than a dedicated kitchen. If you go, ask about the certification at the counter before ordering.

Our tips on site

  • Say “Mam celiakię”. That is the phrase that triggers precautions; “bez glutenu” on its own often passes for a food preference.
  • Look for the “Menu Bez Glutenu” mention. It is the certification programme of the Polskie Stowarzyszenie Osób z Celiakią i na Diecie Bezglutenowej, the Polish association for people with celiac disease and people on a gluten-free diet; three of our four verifications refer to it.
  • Watch out for brands with several branches in town. The Fit Cake case shows it: certification applies to a point of sale, not to a brand.
  • Travelling on in Poland? Our guide to gluten-free travel in Poland covers the rest of the country.
